Mechanical integrity of systems and equipment in marine facilities are
achieved through proper design and construction, and verified through
inspections. Inspection helps in the early detection of equipment degradation, thereby reducing its potential for accidents. Inspections also ensure that
marine facilities are designed and constructed in full compliance with codes,
rules and regulations. GMFE, LLC offers inspection services that address all
aspects of marine facilities’ design, construction, operation and maintenance. Typical inspection-based services may include one or more of the following
partial list of activities:

  • Risk Based Inspection (in accordance with API RP 580/API Pub. 581))
  • Mechanical Integrity Inspection
  • Mechanical Systems Integrity Management
  • Pipeline Integrity Management
  • Fitness for Service (in accordance with API RP 579)
  • Reliability, Availability and Maintainability Analysis (RAM)
  • Safety Management Systems
  • Regulatory Compliance Audits

Asset integrity management, whether terminal topside facilities or pier
utility piping systems, is aimed at managing infrastructure and equipment so
as to maximize return on investment, while protecting workers, the community
and the environment. GMFE, LLC provides asset integrity management
services for pipelines, terminals and docks, storage facilities, process plants
and other marine facilities. The scope of services is tailored for each facility
based on a preliminary audit, review of documentation and personal interviews
of facility personnel.

Fitness-for-service assessment is implemented when an inspection detects
a defect in equipment that raises concerns about the continued use of the equipment. GMFE, LLC can assess a wide range of defect types, including corrosion/erosion, crack-like flaws, fire damage, mechanical damage and more,
and consequently provide an estimate of the remaining life and usefulness of the subject equipment.

Regulatory compliance audits are imposed by the Authority having
Jurisdiction (AHJ) such as a state or local government agency. Typical audits
of this type, of marine oil terminals, are those called for by the State of California
in compliance with MOTEMS. GMFE, LLC having performed MOTEMS and other compliance audits offers its regulatory compliance audit services for marine facilities that include oil & gas, military, commercial, municipal and recreational.
